I love this gluten-free barbecue spice mix. It’s so versatile. We grill a lot and use this often as a dry rub for meats. My husband also likes to use his smoker and smoke meat from time to time. This rub is perfect for that too. We have even used it on our Thanksgiving Turkey.
My favorite way to use this gluten-free barbecue spice mix is for chili seasoning. Many of the store-bought chili seasoning mixes contain gluten. So I use this for my Spicy Gluten-Free Chili recipe and it’s delicious. Why not give it a try tonight?
To use this allergy-free mix for chili seasoning, omit the brown sugar and use only 3 tablespoons of the mix.
To use this allergy-friendly mix as a dry rub for meat (grilled or smoked), first coat the meat with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (about 1-2 tablespoons) OR Dijon Mustard (2-3 tablespoons). Then rub this mixture into the meat.
If smoking the meat, apply the rub, then wrap the meat in plastic wrap and let it sit for 12-24 hours in the refrigerator.
To use this mix as a dry rub for poultry, omit the cayenne pepper and the brown sugar.
This spice mix will yield approximately 1/2 cup or 8 Tablespoons.
