Champagne is in many variations of cocktails and punches. Classic champagne cocktails are often for celebrating special occasions, and most often Christmas or New Year’s. This recipe for champagne punch has been in my family for years. It is a classic punch drink. We make this punch for Christmas or New Year’s celebrations. Try this champagne Punch Recipe for Christmas Brunch along with my Christmas Morning Casserole.
A classic punch drink consists of just 4-5 basic ingredients. To make punch you need alcohol (spirits), citrus, water, and a type of sweetener. Depending on the recipe, sometimes punch calls for adding spice as well.
To make this recipe you need champagne, frozen raspberry lemonade, water, honey, and Curacao Liqueur.
Combine the frozen raspberry lemonade, water, honey, and Curacao Liqueur together in a large punch bowl. Mix well and then add in the champagne. Mix again and then serve immediately. Add fresh raspberries to your glass for garnish as desired.
Champagne, Prosecco, and other sparkling wines are all gluten-free. Most champage is safe for those with a gluten allergy, gluten sensitivity or Celiac Disease. Be sure to check the labels carefully as some brands may add other ingredients to their champagne.
If you want a really good bottle of champagne, many recommend Krug Grande Cuvee Brut, Brut-Delamonte Blanc de Blancs, and Ruinart Brut Rose. Other really good bottles of champagne include Moet and Chandon Imperial, Bollinger, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, and Dom Perignon.
The best cheaper bottles of Champagne many recommend are Chandon California Brut Classic, Ayala Brut Majeur, and Mirabella Brut Rose. If you want a bottle of champagne under $20 try these brands, Jacqueline Leonne Brut, Korbel Extra Dry California Champagne, and Andre Sparkling Wine.
One 4-ounce glass of champagne is approximately 12% alcohol, compared with a 4-ounce glass of wine, which is approximately 6-16% alcohol (depending on the type of wine). Compare that to a 12-ounce bottle of beer which is 4% alcohol. The alcohol content of one-shot (1.5 ounces) of most liquors is equal to approximately 40%.
I hope you enjoy all of your Christmas and Holiday celebrations.
Blessings to you and yours and Happy New Year! Laura xo
